Let me just say that this place is phenomenal! 1st time going and everyone in the area said to stop by, and it was well worth it! I let them know I was a first-timer and they guided me through the order and let me know what was on my meal and everything! Very kind staff and very resourceful!! AND THE FOOD!!!!! The food is spectacular!! Plenty of sauces to choose from and the sides complement the entree so well! Amazing place to eat! I will come back before I leave!
Best Brisket I've ever had. The pulled pork is also amazing. I have a gluten intolerance, and I've never had an issue here with cross contamination. I will miss this place, but I promise to come back for Home Coming.

1/29/2025: Return Visit - Awesome! A BBQ Destination Worth the Drive! What a perfect day for a drive! On January 29, 2025, I took my Corvette Stingray on a road trip from Richmond, VA, to Lynchburg, VA, with one delicious destination in mind—Country Smoak! I first stumbled upon this gem a few months ago and instantly knew I had found my new go-to BBQ spot. Today, I made the trip just for their incredible food, and let me tell you—it never disappoints! I loaded up on ribs, scooby snacks, beef sausages, a brisket baked potato, smoked baked beans, and more brisket—because when BBQ is this good, you don’t hold back! Every bite was packed with rich, smoky flavor and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. If you love real-deal, expertly crafted BBQ, Country Smoak is worth every mile. Can’t wait to come back again! I was in the area and decided to give the queue a try. I always look for new BBQ restaurants I have not tried and sample. Most of the time, they are insignificant or disappointing. Yet, Country Smoak was simply delicious and amazing when I arrived. I had order number 23, 10/20/2024, 2 pm/est pickup. Ribs, tips, half chicken, turkey sandwich, greens, beans, and two sausages. You would agree. I got some items to sample; they were delicious, tender, and just enough Smoak. The boss sauce is the boss sauce. I love it so much that I will drive back from Richmond, VA when I want a real BBQ. I have found my second bbq joint that does not disappoint, being added to Buz and Neds in Richmond, Virginia. I now have a nice, easy drive in my Corvette Stingray to put miles on it and get delicious BBQ from Country Smoal. I had the pleasure of trying this delicious food recently and it certainly didn't disappoint! I had the chicken and pulled pork with Mahogany sauce both were fantastic! The mac and cheese is the best I've ever had hands down! The baked beans have meat in them just the way I love them! Everyone is doing a great job keep up the good work
I’ve been here couple times and now I am hooked. I’ve so far had the prime brisket sandwich, loaded baked potato, mac n cheese, and collard greens. I have yet to have left overs. Friendly staff who take the time to answer any questions. Not too much seating on the inside but they also have seating outside for warmer days.
WOW! I’m flying back to VA just to eat here! Ha! Okay, I’m going to see my college kid, and go eat here every time I visit! YUM! The Virginia Chicken on the salad was to die for! It was full of flavor! The Mac and cheese is probably the best Mac & Cheese I’ve ever had! The guys demolished their pulled pork sandwiches! We had perfect weather and enjoyed our food outside! This is a place where you could easily grab your food to go. One word: mmmmmmmmm!
Everything was amazing! The staff was friendly and super helpful. I got a bit of everything, totally recommend the brisket and ribs, but the sides were just as good as the proteins. The collars and mac & cheese were my favorite sides, got to have the collars to cut all the richness in my opinion. Overall it was a great experience and will definitely be back if I'm in the area.
